Facebook releases ‘Notify’ app for iOS to get alerts

Rumors have been around for quite some time now that Facebook will be launching a breaking news application called Notify. Once again rumors mill was spot on, as the social giant has launched a brand new app for iOS called “Notify,” which is a notification-based application.

Notify from facebook not only provides breaking news in a single specific category, it also covers a good list of different markets, including weather, news, sports, and access to historical images through Getty.

Notify by facebook will keep you up-to-date regarding things of your interest. You can choose different stations about a specific topic such as news, technology, politics, or entertainment. After selecting a station, all you need to do is turn on the Notifications switch from that source. Users will also be able to save notifications to a save later option, so it is possible to check up on something later. Users can find stations manually as well as Facebook itself will suggest you different station based on your Facebook profile.
